Chairwoman Lisa McClain, U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, recently posted a series of statements on her social media account addressing immigration policy, voting regulations, and the recognition of former prisoners of war.
On April 7, 2026, McClain commented on the rhetoric surrounding crimes committed by undocumented immigrants: “The idea that American citizens are ‘in the wrong place at the wrong time’ when they’re brutally murdered by illegal immigrants is asinine. The ONLY PEOPLE in the wrong place at the wrong time are the CRIMINAL ILLEGAL ALIENS let in by the Democrats.”
Addressing voter identification laws on April 8, 2026, she stated: “The SAVE America Act is really very simple: you MUST show ID to vote, just the same as when you buy a beer, board a plane, or in Mamdani’s NYC, shovel snow.”
On April 9, 2026—National Former POW Recognition Day—McClain honored veterans who endured captivity during wartime. She wrote: “Today, on National Former POW Recognition Day, we honor those who endured captivity among the enemy in unfailing service to this great nation. Their sacrifice, heroism, and bravery in the face of tribulation will never be forgotten. We recommit ourselves to serving them as they”
McClain was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce. She graduated from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1997.
