Chairwoman Lisa McClain, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 9th district, has recently shared a series of tweets on various topics. McClain, who replaced former Congress member Paul Mitchell in 2021, expressed her gratitude towards military spouses, commented on safety issues concerning girls, and introduced new legislation aimed at modernizing the financial system.

On May 9, 2025, McClain tweeted her appreciation for military spouses: “Thank you to the selfless and steady military spouses of our American armed forces. Our nation is incredibly thankful for your sacrifices while your loved ones defend our country.”

Later that day, she addressed concerns regarding safety for girls: “Thank you, my friend! It’s unbelievable that some of the people tasked with ensuring keeping girls safe REFUSE to.” The tweet suggests frustration over certain individuals failing in their responsibilities to protect girls.

In another post on May 9, 2025, McClain announced her legislative initiative: “Pennies are a waste of taxpayer dollars. That’s why I introduced the Common Cents Act to help modernize our financial system. We’ve started codifying @POTUS and the American people’s agenda in the House, and this is another bill we should pass.” This statement reflects her commitment to financial reform by proposing the elimination of pennies as part of broader efforts to update fiscal policies.

Lisa McClain was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and resides in Bruce. She graduated from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1997.
