Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, has recently made several public statements on social media addressing national security and religious observances.

On April 2, 2026, McClain commented on the current administration’s foreign policy, stating, “Last night, President Trump made clear that America’s campaign against the #1 state sponsor of terrorism is achieving all military objectives. President Trump has always been clear that Iran must NEVER get a nuclear weapon. Operation Epic Fury is keeping the American people”.

Lisa McClain was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce at age 57. She graduated from Northwood University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She succeeded Paul Mitchell as representative of Michigan’s 9th congressional district in 2021.
