Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, posted a series of statements on March 27, 2026, addressing border policy, White House communications, and her political independence.

In a tweet published at 19:05 UTC, McClain wrote: “This is the Democrats’ playbook. They want a WIDE OPEN BORDER. This funding deal gives our country just that. Republicans will not let that happen.”

Later that evening at 19:26 UTC, she commented on a new government initiative: “The new @WhiteHouse app is the one stop shop for keeping up with President Trump and @HouseGOP’s action to deliver the America First agenda.”

At 20:40 UTC, McClain emphasized her political autonomy by stating: “I’ve got news for you: I don’t work for Chuck Schumer – and I never will.”

McClain has served as Michigan’s representative in Congress since replacing Paul Mitchell in 2021. She was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University in 1997.
