Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, posted several statements on her social media accounts on July 23 and July 24, 2025, addressing issues related to national politics and higher education.

On July 23, McClain wrote: “The American people deserve to know the truth. The Democrats perpetrated the Russia hoax to undermine @POTUS. It was ALL A LIE.” This statement echoes ongoing partisan debates about investigations into alleged Russian interference in U.S. elections.

Later that day, she shared another post containing only a link: “https://t.co/qnvofkZLnM”, without additional commentary or context.

On July 24, McClain commented on recent developments involving Columbia University: “A massive win for @POTUS and his administration. This settlement underscores the fact that Columbia FAILED to protect Jewish students, faculty, and staff. I commend @EDSecMcMahon for fighting for what’s right. @HouseGOP and the @EdWorkforceCmte will continue our work to”. In this post, she referenced a settlement involving Columbia University and praised Secretary of Education McMahon for efforts supporting Jewish members of the campus community.

Lisa McClain has served in Congress since replacing Paul Mitchell in 2021. Born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently residing in Bruce, she graduated from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1997.
