Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, recently addressed issues related to national security and political divisions in a series of posts on her official social media account.

On March 16, 2026, McClain wrote: “Democrats’ political games are causing Americans across the country to miss their flights and jeopardizing security. And why? Because they would rather protect violent illegal criminals than hardworking Americans. Shame on them!”

Later that day, she expressed support for a colleague facing health challenges: “Mike and I are praying for Susie Wiles as she faces this breast cancer diagnosis. Susie is one of the strongest fighters in Washington. We are wishing her strength and a full and speedy recovery “ (March 16, 2026).

Continuing her commentary on homeland security funding, McClain posted on March 17, 2026: “You can’t cherry pick where to leave America open to threats. This is about the safety and security of American citizens from ALL threats. Fund ALL of our homeland security and stop playing political games.”

Lisa McClain succeeded Paul Mitchell in Congress after the 2020 election cycle and has served since January 2021. Born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966, she currently resides in Bruce Township and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University in 1997.
