Chairwoman Lisa McClain, U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, took to social media on March 10, 2026, to highlight her work with fellow House Republicans and criticize Democratic tax policy.
In a post made at 5:58 p.m. UTC, McClain stated, “I am proud to be joined by Chairman @RepJasonSmith, Chairman @RepBost, Rep. @MarioDB, and @RepBethVanDuyne as we discuss our work to SAVE AMERICAN’S PAYCHECKS “.
Later the same day at 9:40 p.m. UTC, she expressed criticism of Democratic lawmakers in another tweet: “I will say it till I’m blue in the face:
EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT voted to raise your taxes.
EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT thinks Washington knows how to spend YOUR MONEY better than you.”
At 10:16 p.m. UTC that evening, McClain reiterated her position on tax policy differences between parties: “Let me be clear: EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT voted to raise your taxes.
House Republicans voted to LOWER your taxes.
It’s that simple.”
McClain was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University in 1997 and succeeded Paul Mitchell as representative for Michigan’s 9th District beginning in 2021.
