Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, recently used her social media platform to address concerns over Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding and national security.

On March 28, 2026, McClain informed her followers about a live appearance on NewsNation with Katie Pavlich to discuss DHS funding. She posted, ” TUNE IN! I’m going live now on @KatiePavlich on @NewsNation to discuss DHS funding.”

Later that night, she criticized the Senate’s actions regarding homeland security resources. In a tweet at 2:42 a.m., she wrote, “In the middle of the night, the Senate passed a bill that ZEROES OUT our ability to secure our homeland. That’s unacceptable. All so they could go on vacation? Give me a break.”

Shortly after, McClain emphasized House Republicans’ stance on national security and their independence from Senate leadership. At 3:36 a.m., she stated, “House Republicans don’t take our orders from Chuck Schumer. We’ll NEVER sacrifice our national security. America First “

McClain was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce at age 57. She graduated from Northwood University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Business Administration.
