Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congress representative for Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, recently shared her thoughts and activities through a series of tweets. McClain replaced former Congressman Paul Mitchell and has played an active role in legislative matters. Born in Stockbridge, Michigan, in 1966, she currently lives in Bruce.

On May 1, 2025, McClain highlighted her appearance on NEWSMAX’s American Agenda. She discussed her proposed legislation, the Common Cents Act, as well as President Joe Biden’s tariff negotiations and his notable first 100 days in office. For more details, she directed followers to “check it out.”

The following day, McClain criticized Harvard University, noting on May 2, 2025, that while the institution defends its endowment, it falls short in ensuring student safety amidst rising antisemitism. She expressed gratitude towards President Biden for his accountability measures against universities that neglect student protection. McClain argued “you shouldn’t receive a generous tax break if you refuse to protect your students.”

Additionally, on the same day, McClain praised the latest jobs report, acknowledging the positive impact of President Biden’s policies on American employment. She indicated that the House GOP plans to extend this progress by advocating for “our one big, beautiful bill.”

Ultimately, McClain, a graduate of Northwood University, continues her legislative duties by focusing on job creation and educational accountability.
