Chairwoman Lisa McClain, U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, used her social media platform on April 1, 2026, to highlight legislative efforts affecting tipped workers and to extend holiday greetings to her constituents.

In a post dated April 1, 2026, McClain stated: “House Republicans are STOPPING THE IRS from raiding your tips. Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts, you can now deduct up to $25,000 in qualified tips from your taxes, meaning YOU get to keep YOUR MONEY.” She followed this message with another post the same day emphasizing the right of workers to retain their earnings: “You earned your tips. You should get to keep them!”

Later that evening, McClain shared a holiday message for her Jewish constituents: “Happy Passover to all the Jewish Michiganders who call MI-09 home! Wishing you a very joyful holiday “

Lisa McClain succeeded Paul Mitchell in Congress in 2021 and has represented Michigan’s 9th District since then. Born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently residing in Bruce, she graduated from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1997.
