Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, marked significant anniversaries and policy positions in a series of posts on her social media account this week.

On August 14, 2025, McClain recognized the anniversary of Social Security, stating: “On the 90th anniversary of Social Security, @POTUS and the @HouseGOP’s One Big Beautiful Bill renews the promise made to seniors of fiscal security after retirement. With No Tax on Social Security for nearly 90% of seniors their lifetime of work will be honored, and”.

The following day, she commemorated the end of World War II by honoring American military service members. On August 15, 2025, she posted: “80 years ago today, Japan surrendered, ending World War II. To the fearless American forces who made this possible, we celebrate and honor your service. Here’s to VICTORY! https://t.co/GCstWG2PJF”.

Later that same day, McClain addressed policies related to law enforcement in major cities. She wrote: “Let this be a warning to all Democrat-run sanctuary cities. The days of dangerous defund the police policies and lawlessness are over. @POTUS and @AGPamBondi are answering the cries of everyday Americans by restoring LAW AND ORDER! #PromisesKept https://t.co/n2wAYmBtHk”.

Lisa McClain was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce at age 57. She graduated from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1997. McClain succeeded Paul Mitchell as representative for Michigan’s 9th district.
