Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, shared insights and updates through her recent social media posts. Her tweets touched upon legislative priorities, governmental responsiveness, and capital market regulations.

On May 8, 2025, McClain tweeted about her participation in a Policy Breakfast hosted by GovWaste. She stated, “I had the pleasure of joining @GovWaste at their Policy Breakfast.” During the event, she emphasized the House GOP’s commitment to passing significant legislation aimed at preventing what she described as “the largest tax increase in American history.”

Later that day, McClain commented on the actions of President Biden with regard to government responsiveness. In her tweet from May 8, 2025, she noted, “Another example of how @POTUS is working to make our government more responsive to the needs of the American people!” She contrasted this approach with what she characterized as Democrats’ previous focus on expanding government rather than enhancing services.

Additionally, McClain discussed her meeting with SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce as part of her duties on the Financial Committee. On May 8, 2025, she tweeted about this engagement stating,“As a member of the @FinancialCmte, it was an honor to meet with @SECGov Commissioner @HesterPeirce recently.” McClain expressed her dedication to maintaining America’s capital markets as a leading source of wealth creation for Americans and retirees.

Lisa McClain has been serving in Congress since replacing Paul Mitchell in 2021. Born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently residing in Bruce at age 57, McClain holds a BBA from Northwood University obtained in 1997.
