On Sunday, March 15, the Grand Valley State Lakers, featuring former Stoney Creek High School standout Trevor Smith, were edged out in a 69-67 loss to the Michigan Tech Huskies in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament.
The contest, held at Alumni Arena at 5 p.m., marked the team’s first tournament meeting against the Michigan Tech Huskies.
