The Grand Valley State Lakers, featuring former Stoney Creek High School standout Trevor Smith, secured a 59-45 victory over the Ashland Eagles on Saturday, March 14 in the NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament.

The contest, the Lakers’ first meeting against Ashland in the tournament, took place at Alumni Arena at 5:30 p.m.

Grand Valley State’s next tournament matchup is scheduled for Sunday, March 15 at 5 p.m. at Alumni Arena.
