Rep. Lisa McClain of Michigan expressed her thoughts following the U.S. House of Representatives’ recent decision to advance in the budget reconciliation process. The House voted to instruct committees to begin work on drafting an important bill.

“The President was clear: we need to move forward with our agenda. We will start drafting our bill that delivers historic savings while protecting essential programs,” McClain stated. She mentioned that House Republicans aim to fulfill their promises to the American people. This includes preventing a major tax increase, bolstering energy production in the country, securing the border, and revitalizing the economy. “Today, we are continuing to keep that promise,” McClain added.
