Chairwoman Lisa McClain, U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, has recently posted a series of statements on her official Twitter account covering topics from national leadership to law enforcement and tax policy.

On February 16, 2026, McClain marked the federal holiday with praise for American presidents and expressed support for former President Trump. She wrote, “Happy Presidents’ Day! America’s presidents have led the world and defined history, making America the most powerful and greatest country in history. I’m proud to work with President Trump as we put America First, rebuild our economy, and secure our border “.

The following day, February 17, 2026, McClain commented on law enforcement actions in Detroit. She stated: “Law enforcement’s mission is to protect and serve and that’s exactly what these officers did. Why are Democrats in Detroit SIDING WITH CRIMINALS instead of following the law?? The police chief should be ashamed.”

On February 19, 2026, she addressed economic policy by highlighting recent tax initiatives: “The Working Families Tax Cuts are creating OPPORTUNITY for millions of Americans to BUILD their AMERICAN DREAM!”

McClain has represented Michigan’s 9th congressional district since replacing Paul Mitchell in 2021. Born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently residing in Bruce at age 57, she earned her BBA from Northwood University in 1997.
