Chairwoman Lisa McClain, U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, recently shared a series of posts on her social media account addressing trade policy, sports regulations, and legislative achievements.
On July 22, 2025, McClain expressed support for a new trade agreement and its potential impact on the automotive sector. She wrote, “Thank you, @POTUS! This HISTORIC trade deal levels the playing field for Americans and prioritizes Michigan auto manufacturing. Another HUGE win for the U.S.A. “
The following day, McClain commented on recent changes in sports policy compliance by the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee. In her post dated July 23, 2025, she stated, “Common-sense is being restored. Men should have NEVER been allowed to compete in women’s sports. I’m glad the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee are now compliant with @POTUS’ Executive Order.”
Later that same day, McClain addressed partisan differences in Congress regarding border security and economic policy. She posted on July 23, 2025: “Democrats fearmonger. House Republicans deliver. The One Big Beautiful secures the border, supercharges our economy, and puts America first. “
McClain has represented Michigan’s 9th District since replacing Paul Mitchell in 2021 and is known for advocating policies that prioritize manufacturing in her home state of Michigan—a region with deep ties to the auto industry—and conservative approaches to national issues.
She was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce.
A graduate of Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree earned in 1997, McClain continues to serve as a prominent voice from Michigan’s congressional delegation.
