Chairwoman Lisa McClain, U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, recently highlighted her legislative and community engagement activities in a series of posts on social media.

On August 18, 2025, McClain expressed support for President Trump and House Republicans’ new economic initiative. She wrote, “With the One Big Beautiful Bill, President Trump and House Republicans are unleashing America’s economy and igniting a new generation of investment, opportunity, and prosperity for American workers and businesses!”

Two days later, on August 20, McClain detailed her efforts to connect with local veterans. She posted about an event at the Michigan Veteran Home in Chesterfield: “This week, I hosted a veterans roundtable at the Michigan Veteran Home in Chesterfield with veterans, representatives from the @DeptVetAffairs, and community groups. We discussed ways to expand community care, improve access to mental health resources, and tackle unnecessary”

Later that day, she emphasized the importance of emergency preparedness in Southeast Michigan after meeting with local officials. In her post she stated: “The St. Clair County Emergency Operations Center is vital to the safety and security of Southeast Michigan. It was great to meet with Emergency Manager Justin Westmiller and his team to discuss how their operations bring together law enforcement, fire, EMS, public health…”

McClain has served as the representative for Michigan’s 9th District since replacing Paul Mitchell in 2021. Born in Stockbridge in 1966 and currently residing in Bruce Township at age 57, she graduated from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in 1997.
