Chairwoman Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, has recently taken to social media to discuss the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. McClain, who succeeded Paul Mitchell in Congress and holds a BBA from Northwood University, highlighted several key aspects of the proposed legislation through her tweets.

On May 21, 2025, McClain outlined the objectives of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act in a tweet. She stated that it aims to “deliver bigger paychecks,” “drive massive economic growth,” “unleash American energy,” “invest in border security and national defense,” and “strengthen Medicaid for vulnerable Americans who truly need it, while ending waste, fraud.”

Later that day, she criticized the Democratic Party for their stance on certain issues. In her tweet at 18:07 UTC, she accused Democrats of voting “FOR illegal aliens, FOR tax hikes on Americans, and FOR unsafe communities.” She also claimed they created an artificial Congressional Budget Office (CBO) score to mislead the public about the bill.

In another post at 18:20 UTC on May 21st, McClain emphasized that the bill would prevent what she described as “the LARGEST tax hike in American history.” She urged constituents to consider the potential impact on Michiganders in Michigan’s 9th district if the bill does not pass.

Lisa McClain was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce.
