Chairwoman Lisa McClain, U.S. Congresswoman representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, shared updates on social media regarding local achievements and recent legislative actions.

On February 7, 2026, McClain expressed support for a constituent competing internationally: “So proud of Christina Carreira from St. Clair who is competing on @TeamUSA for figure skating! My office helped with her journey to U.S. citizenship and after years of training, she’s living her dream on the big stage. Go make MI-09 proud!”

Three days later, on February 10, 2026, McClain highlighted legislative efforts to address housing affordability: “The dream of homeownership is out of reach for too many. Tonight, we voted to change that. @HouseGOP passed the Housing for the 21st Century Act, which included my Build Now Act to: CUT red tape MODERNIZE regulations STREAMLINE rules Let’s lower home costs for EVERY”

McClain has represented Michigan’s 9th District in Congress since replacing Paul Mitchell in 2021. Born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently residing in Bruce at age 57, she graduated from Northwood University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1997.
