Chairwoman Lisa McClain, representing Michigan’s 9th District in the U.S. Congress since 2021, recently made several announcements via Twitter. McClain, who succeeded Paul Mitchell, emphasized her collaborative efforts and legislative initiatives in a series of tweets.

On April 30, 2025, McClain expressed pride in her collaborative work on legislation with other congressional members. She stated, “Proud to work on this legislation with @RepRobertGarcia, @SenLummis, and @SenGillibrand.” She encouraged followers to read her full statement for additional details.

In another post on the same day, McClain addressed the high production cost of pennies, stating, “It takes FOUR CENTS to make ONE CENT. That doesn’t make any SENSE.” She announced the introduction of a bill to support the President’s executive order aimed at abolishing the penny to save millions of dollars.

Further emphasizing practical information, McClain reminded her audience about upcoming travel regulations: “REMINDER: Starting May 7, you will need a REAL ID to board domestic flights AND enter federal buildings. Make sure your license has the star!” She provided resources for further requirements and information.

Lisa McClain, born in Stockbridge, Michigan, in 1966 and currently residing in Bruce, graduated from Northwood University in 1997 with a BBA. She has been actively serving her community since beginning her tenure in Congress.
