Matt Maddock, a Republican state legislator from Michigan, posted several comments on his Twitter account in mid-April 2026. The tweets address nonprofit organizations and electoral procedures.

On April 13, 2026, Maddock commented on the future of certain nonprofit organizations, writing “Lots of leftist and communist-run NGO’s and nonprofits will have to find real jobs soon.”

The following day, on April 14, 2026, he discussed the role of secretaries of state in elections. He stated “Republican or a Democrat. The Secretary of State counting statewide votes must resign if you are running for another statewide office. I will be dropping a bill next week because EVERYBODY KNOWS it’s a conflict yet there is no law prohibiting it. Yet.”

Shortly after that post, Maddock tweeted “” on April 14, 2026.

Maddock has previously sponsored bills related to election administration in Michigan and has been an outspoken critic of certain nonprofit activities in politics.
