Matt Maddock, a Republican member of the Michigan House of Representatives, posted a series of tweets on March 20 and 21, 2026, expressing strong opinions about communism, state welfare programs, and taxpayer funding for higher education.

On March 20, Maddock made a statement regarding communists: “All communists are racist pigs.”

Later that day, he commented on reports concerning state welfare distribution: “Got this message from someone just now. Apparently the state is mailing out Bridge cards to ppl who didn’t even apply for them. It all makes sense now why such an increase in welfare.” The Bridge Card is Michigan’s Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) system used for distributing food assistance and other benefits.

On March 21, Maddock addressed public funding for Delta College: “Delta is one of the biggest leftist kolleges taxpayers fund. They extract 30 million from local taxpayers and 20 million from state. Not surprised at all. Good to know though. Note stored.” Delta College is a community college in Michigan that receives significant funding from both local and state sources.

Maddock has been known for his outspoken views on social media platforms as part of his role in the Michigan House of Representatives.
