Representative Lisa McClain, currently serving Michigan’s 9th district in the U.S. Congress, has expressed her views on several political matters through a series of tweets. Known for succeeding Paul Mitchell in 2021, McClain voiced her opinions on education and government spending, aligning herself with Republican perspectives.

In a tweet dated March 25, 2025, Representative McClain addressed concerns regarding educational policy under the Trump administration. She stated: “Before Democrats begin their next fearmongering campaign, let me set the record straight. Last week, President Trump signed an Executive Order to improve our country’s education. Republicans want the best outcomes for our students. And so does President Trump.”

Continuing her discourse on education funding on March 25, 2025, McClain critiqued current financial allocations to the Department of Education: “The Department of Education has received more funding EVERY YEAR despite lower outcomes. We can’t keep dumping more money into a broken system. Our goal is to make the education system BETTER for students.”

On the same day, Representative McClain criticized Democratic actions concerning Medicaid and other social programs: “During recess, Democrats held a Medicaid Day of Action. But they missed the REAL day of action when they voted to shut down the government. They voted against: Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security recipients. Paying our servicemembers. Funding WIC.”
