Lisa McClain, a U.S. Congress member representing Michigan’s 9th district since 2021, recently shared her perspectives on various national issues via social media. McClain, known for her strong stances on institutional reform and policy matters, addressed her concerns and acknowledgments in a series of tweets.

On April 4, 2025, McClain emphasized the necessity for Harvard University to choose between reforming its departments, which she claims foster antisemitic harassment, or risk losing federal funding. Her statement urged the institution to opt for “common-sense” measures to prevent such harassment. “Harvard can either side with common-sense and reform departments that “fuel antisemitic harassment,” or lose their federal funding.”

In a subsequent tweet on the same day, McClain criticized governmental efforts that bypass Congress, stating that these actions undermine millions of Americans dependent on affordable and reliable transportation. She argued against government involvement in deciding Americans’ choice of vehicles. “These waivers bypassed Congress and ignore millions of Americans who rely on affordable, reliable transportation. It’s not the government’s role to decide what vehicle Americans drive.”

The following day, April 5, 2025, McClain took a moment to honor Gold Star spouses, expressing gratitude for the sacrifices made by them and their loved ones. Her message paid tribute to their contributions and emphasized national remembrance. “Today we honor Gold Star spouses. From a grateful nation, we ALL thank you. We will never forget the sacrifices you and your loved ones made for our country.”
