Innovation: 1 patent granted in Lake Orion in week ending June 27

There was one patent granted in Lake Orion in the week ending June 27, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

This is unchanged from the week before. The patent was for a techniques for determining condensation accumulation and depletion at a charge air cooler of a turbocharged engine having a low pressure cooled egr system.

The patent was filed on October 25, 2019

The number of approved patents in the U.S. grew steadily from roughly 225,000 in 2009 to more than 285,000 in 2019. The number of patents approved suffered a slight downturn in 2020.

Gene Quinn with IPWatchdog said the system underneath patents have become unwieldy, specifically for medical innovations.
