David McKay named Scripps Middle School principal for 2022-23

As Lake Orion Community Schools looks forward to the 2022-23 school year, the administrative positions in the district will continue to keep LOCS among the state’s elite.

David McKay will be taking over as the new principal at Scripps Middle School this fall.

Mr. McKay is a lifelong Dragon, having graduated from Lake Orion High School in 1999 and worked in a variety of LOCS roles from math teacher at LOHS to Scripps assistant principal, where he has served in that role since 2013.

His impact beyond the school building is significant, serving on safety and security committees for the district and has coordinated programs and activities across the three middle schools.

He has principal experience from a period during the 2019-20 school year when he was the interim principal at Scripps.

Mr. McKay takes over for Dr. Daniel Haas, who is the new principal at Lake Orion High School.

LOCS looks forward to adding David McKay to the strong team of principals and him continuing the outstanding education Scripps students have received for years.
