New school clothes and a backpack of supplies may be a source of stress for families in need as the 2022-23 school year approaches. Our community partners support RCS neighbors through their annual Blast Off 2 School event, providing free school supplies, backpacks, school clothing and hygiene kits for eligible children, ages 4-18.
This program is provided courtesy of Neighborhood House, Assistance League of Southeastern Michigan and Ascension. Last year, more than 450 children participated. Donations from community members are gratefully accepted.
Blast Off 2 School will be held August 13 at the Neighborhood House in Rochester Hills. Additionally, free student health screenings and sports physicals will be available by appointment on August 3. These opportunities are available to Neighborhood House clients and families residing in Auburn Hills, Rochester, Rochester Hills, Oakland Township and Addison Township who qualify for free and reduced-price lunch programs or Medicaid.
Eligible families may register here for participation in health assessments or Blast Off 2 School: https://www.ranh.org/get-help. Volunteers may contact Veronica Hall at veronica@ranh.org.
