Congratulations to first-grade teacher Jessica Bull, the Daniel Axford Elementary School 2023 Teacher of the Year!!!
Check out some of the impactful quotes written in her nomination from parents, students, and colleagues.
A D.A. parent shared, “What I loved as a parent to see, is Mrs. Bull is a person of high character, and not only is she teaching our children the curriculum, but she is also teaching them how to be good humans. I am a firm believer in a collaborative parent-teacher-student relationship, and Mrs. Bull is a true professional in how she develops relationships with families. Educating children takes a village, and what a gift it is to have Mrs. Bull in ours."
A former D.A. student said, “Mrs. Bull is a very caring teacher! She was also a lot of fun! Everything we did with her seemed easy! My favorite memory from her class was the Fancy Nancy party. We got to dress fancy and walk on the red carpet so our parents could see us on Zoom. Mrs. Bull dressed up very fancy and made it a special day for us.” It worked out that Principal Boyd surprised Mrs. Bull with her award during this year's Fancy Nancy party!
A D.A. colleague wrote, "She is a risk-taker in her classroom and loves to try new things! Jess has also made it a mission to constantly connect her lessons to our International Baccalaureate program and not only teach the content but help the first graders live it! She has a positive attitude and shows up every day for our kids! Her love for teaching and learning is inspiring."
And we just have to share one more direct quote from another of her fellow Team O members, “I have a lot of care and respect for Jessica because she is someone who demonstrates a growth mindset, leans into vulnerability, and develops the courage needed to be a true change agent in order to reach more students and to live a more meaningful life. Her interpersonal qualities and dedication to our profession make her an asset to our school community and the educational field.”
Congratulations, Jessica!! You are an amazing Wildcat!!!
