Lisa McClain discusses data protection legislation

Representative Lisa McClain, who has been serving Michigan's 9th district in the U.S. Congress since 2021, shared her views on recent legislative and political issues through a series of tweets. Her comments reflect her stance on data security, priorities for the House GOP, and national pride.

On December 6, 2024, Representative McClain expressed satisfaction with a recent legal ruling concerning data protection. She stated: "I was proud to vote for the divestiture bill and today's ruling is another win for the protection of American's private data and security." She further urged TikTok to separate from its connections with China by saying, "Time for TikTok to divest and shed its ties to the CCP!"

Later that day, at 19:48 UTC, she posed a question regarding future priorities for her party. In her tweet she asked: "What should @HouseGOP's top priority be in January?"

On December 7, 2024, Representative McClain addressed concerns about patriotism and respect for national symbols. She remarked on officials' attitudes towards America with: "So many men and women have fought and died for our right to say the Pledge of Allegiance. It's shameful these elected officials have such disdain for our country, the greatest on Earth." She concluded by noting Canada's proximity.
