Rep. Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) has expressed her views following the passage of the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act by the U.S. House. The legislation aims to define gender according to reproductive biology and genetics under Title IX, a federal civil rights law.

The bill seeks to prevent males identifying as females from participating in women's sports where federal funding is involved. It also intends to ensure fair competition for women and girls in sports events.

In her statement, Rep. McClain emphasized the necessity of this legislation: “The fact Congress had to enact legislation to keep men out of young girls’ locker rooms is insane. For fifty years, we fought for women’s rights, and I will not let Democrats destroy that progress on my watch." She further stated, "House Republicans are already turning the country around and putting a stop to the madness.”
