Matt Maddock, a Michigan state representative, posted a series of tweets on November 6 and 7, 2025, addressing media coverage and the state's commercial fishing policies.

In a tweet from November 6, Maddock commented on media reporting, stating: "This is a lie. Ask any fake news reporter or any Democrat. Being sarcastic here. It’s true but the media won’t report it."

Later that day, he criticized Michigan's approach to walleye fishing regulations: "Another scam. Michigan commercial fishers can’t catch Walleye but Canadians catch 14 million pounds of it and sell it back to us at $8 lb. Gets worse. Michigan Taxpayers pay 1.5 million to restock Walleye in our lakes so only Canada can catch them. @MichiganDNR" In this post, Maddock referenced the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and expressed concern over taxpayer spending related to fish stocking and cross-border trade.

On November 7, Maddock thanked another public official for an appearance on their show: "Thank you for having me on your show @repcavitt let’s do it again!"

Maddock has previously been vocal about state policy issues and often uses social media to share his views with constituents.
