Oxford Chamber of Commerce recently issued the following announcement.
Welcome to Oxford!
Don and Eileen Wloszek stopped by the township hall to file some paperwork related to their new home in the Waterstone development. After 25 years in Troy, the couple decided to relocate to picturesque northern Oakland County.
They're looking forward to enjoying the lakes, the golf courses, the Polly Ann Trail and of course, the peace and quiet.
"We looked at a lot of different communities in Oakland County and (Oxford) was the one that really stuck out to us," Don said. "We kept coming back."
Don and Eileen are already fans of Oxford's historic downtown, which is filled with unique dining, shopping and entertainment experiences. Eileen has participated in previous Girls Night Out events and the couple enjoys the fare at Victoria's Wine & Dine. "It's a great restaurant," Don said.
Don works as a facilities engineer at Ford Motor Company. Eileen is a program manager with Gates Corporation, a global manufacturer of innovative, highly engineered power transmission and fluid power solutions.
The couple met 28 years ago while working at the Hotel Pontchartrain in downtown Detroit. "I was in human resources and he was with the building maintenance group," Eileen said.
Don and Eileen are pictured in front of the township hall holding a "welcome bag" from the Oxford Chamber of Commerce. Welcome bags, available at the township treasurer's office, are filled with all sorts of goodies, coupons and valuable information about local businesses.
Welcome to Oxford, Don and Eileen! We're delighted to have you here.
