Oxford Community Schools issued the following announcement on Oct 1.
Clear Lake IB 5th graders got to travel to OMS to visit the Oakland Schools STEMi truck yesterday. Classes were introduced and had hands-on opportunities to interact with virtual reality, 3D sculpting, play with two different types of robots, and coding, as well as drive cars that function through laser echolocation/sonar called LINAR.
This learning opportunity on wheels was chosen for 5th grade as it enhances their IB PYP Exhibition and hopefully influences students to think about STEM careers and how they can help solve today’s global issues, thus being able to take action to promote positive change in different ways.
