Avondale School District recently issued the following announcement.
CONGRATULATIONS Avondale GATE Students! Six students from Avondale GATE School participated in the 2021 Michigan Scholastic Club Championships Statewide Chess Competition. They are Henry Diemer, Adyoth Sural, Louie Richer, Henry Billings, Sidney Billings, Elijah Billings. In the team competition, Henry Diemer and Henry Billings were on a team that placed 2nd in the K-8 division; Elijah Billings placed 4th as an individual for K-3 and Adyoth Sural placed 8th.
