City of Rochester issued the following announcement on Jan 19.
Join the Rochester Pollinators for a winter sowing workshop!
Did you know that you can plant your native seeds now in a mini-greenhouse? In fact, Michigan native seeds do best when sown in the winter.
The Rochester Pollinators, a sub-committee of the City Beautiful Commission, will host a workshop at Dinosaur Hill Nature Preserve on Saturday, January 29, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. At this one-hour workshop, you will learn all that you need to know in order to do your own winter sowing project. All the supplies you will need to sow two types of native seeds will be included in the cost of the workshop, and more supplies will be available for a small fee.
