October is Fire Prevention Month and the week of Oct. 9-15 is Fire Prevention Week. The focus of this time is to raise fire safety awareness and ensure your home and family are protected. Please be sure to check all your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and change the batteries. If you are in need of an alarm, the Rochester Hills Fire Department provides them for free.
