Saturday was the Robotics County Championship at Birmingham Seaholm. Pontiac Robotics, Team 51 The Wings of Fire, once again showed the power of the Phoenix Nation. Our strong team of 38 students and Alumni mentors started the season 3 weeks behind due to renovations but worked extra hard to come together and made the quarter-finals at the County Championship.
Our team was selected as the winners of the Most Improved Team Award for the season as our robot could double score and hang off the ground by the end of the season.
We are once again proud to announce that we are in the final four teams Countywide to be nominated for the Oakland School's Founders' Award which goes to the team that best represents Oakland County Robotics, an award we have won 6 times, more than any other program in Oakland County.
They will now turn their attention to January for their 27th consecutive FIRST Robotics season!
