Matt Maddock, a Republican member of the Michigan House of Representatives, posted a series of statements on his X (formerly Twitter) account in early September 2025, addressing topics ranging from crime victims to tax policy and political retaliation.

On September 6, 2025, Maddock commented on an unspecified group with the statement: "Bet not one crime victim in the bunch https://t.co/Ii6h7hjrHN".

The following day, September 7, he criticized language used by Michigan Democrats regarding state revenue. In his post he stated: "Democrat Dog Whistle Words. When the @MichiganDems say they are going to 'find new revenue' that means they are going to raise taxes, fees and fines."

Later on September 7, Maddock shared another message that read: "Translation: paybacks are a bitch https://t.co/jneXUaV7se".

Matt Maddock has represented Michigan's 51st District since January 2019 and is known for his outspoken positions on social media platforms. The comments referenced above reflect ongoing partisan debates within Michigan politics about taxation and legislative priorities. These issues have been central themes in recent legislative sessions as lawmakers negotiate budget shortfalls and discuss ways to address state funding needs.
