Michigan State Representative Matt Maddock commented on recent legal and budgetary developments in a series of posts on his social media account on September 9, 2025.

In one post, Maddock referenced the outcome of a legal matter, stating, "120 felonies dismissed. All the glory to God." (September 9, 2025).

Later that day, Maddock addressed state budget issues, writing, "Budget Update: government got fat and happy off billions in Covid money. The dems want to increase taxes to keep spending at the same fat and happy scamdemic rate with 4.5 billion tax increases but still won’t say who or how https://t.co/0mQhs7DYgU" (September 9, 2025). He expressed concern about proposed tax increases following significant federal relief funds distributed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In another post later that evening, Maddock highlighted salary increases within a state agency: "Holy Jackpot! Michigan Health Department under @GovWhitmer has gone from 50 ppl making over $100,000 to over 1,000 making way over 100k https://t.co/nKqfUqvY14" (September 9, 2025). He noted what he described as substantial growth in high-salaried positions at the Michigan Health Department during Governor Gretchen Whitmer's administration.

Matt Maddock is a member of the Michigan House of Representatives. His posts reflect ongoing debates in Michigan regarding the use of federal COVID-19 relief funds and concerns about transparency in government spending. During the pandemic, states received significant federal aid for public health and economic recovery efforts; discussions continue over how these funds are managed and their long-term effects on state budgets.
