Matt Maddock, a Michigan state representative, made several posts on X (formerly Twitter) between September 16 and 17, 2025, expressing criticism of left-leaning social media users and Democratic education policies.

On September 16, Maddock posted: "Is it me or does every single coward leftist keyboard kommie on X hide behind their mom using an anonymous account".

Later the same day, he wrote: "Translation: dems to inject all their modern-day sexual perversions into schools and will never stop forcing their degeneracy upon our kids and grandkids."

On September 17, Maddock addressed the Michigan Democratic Party directly in another post: "@MichiganDems are more concerned with sex ed than they are with reading and math. We are still number 44 out of 50 in school skills".
