U.S. Congresswoman Lisa McClain, who represents Michigan’s 9th district, marked the second anniversary of the October 7 Hamas attacks with a series of statements on her social media account. In her posts, McClain reflected on the events of two years ago and addressed ongoing political issues in Washington.
On October 7, 2025, McClain wrote, "Two years ago, Hamas unleashed pure evil—murdering, raping, and kidnapping innocent Israelis. On this second anniversary, I continue to call for every hostage to be released now. Thank you to President Trump who is working to bring peace through strength, and bring the https://t.co/GT6bSEuy0Z".
Later that day, she posted about congressional actions regarding government funding: "Democrats voted for a CR under Joe Biden 13 times. Now they’ve caved to the radical, progressive wing of their party. It’s that simple. https://t.co/LlHAJnYQSu" (October 7, 2025).
In another message reflecting on the anniversary of the attacks in Israel, McClain stated: "Today, we remember October 7th—when Hamas terrorists unleashed pure evil on the Jewish people. Two years later, America still stands with the Israeli people and Jews around the world. https://t.co/8KsYbC0yDk" (October 7, 2025).
Lisa McClain has represented Michigan's 9th District in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Paul Mitchell. She was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce at age 57. McClain earned her BBA from Northwood University in 1997.
