On the second anniversary of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attacks on Israel, House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) released a statement reflecting on the events and expressing continued support for Israel.

“Two years ago, Hamas terrorists unleashed pure evil, murdering, raping, and kidnapping innocent men, women, and children. It was one of the darkest days for the Jewish people since the Holocaust, and the world must never forget it,” said Chairwoman McClain. “America must always stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel, our greatest ally in the fight against terror. I’m calling for the immediate release of every last hostage, and I applaud President Trump for leading with strength to bring them home and restore peace through power.”

Lisa McClain has represented Michigan’s 9th district in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Paul Mitchell. She was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and currently resides in Bruce. McClain earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University in 1997.
