Matt Maddock, a Michigan state representative, has recently shared a series of posts on his X (formerly Twitter) account addressing criminal justice in California, recommending an article, and calling for school board candidates in Michigan.

On October 6, 2025, Maddock commented on California's criminal justice policies, stating, "In Kommiefornia you can steal 10 tons of copper, get arrested 200 times and still never see the inside of a jail because of Zero Bail and communist judges. And the communists are complaining about it now lol."

The following day, Maddock shared an endorsement of a piece by Travers Koory, writing on October 7, 2025, "Great article from @wanderin_priest Travers Koory."

Later on October 7, Maddock addressed his followers in Michigan with a call to action: "We 500 need good ppl to run for school boards in Michigan. If you are bothered but don’t think you are the 'right person' to do it, you are the right person to do it. Text me 248-866-0541 and I’ll show you how."

Maddock is known for his outspoken views on criminal justice reform and education policy in Michigan. In recent years, debates over zero bail policies and criminal justice reform have been prominent in California, with critics arguing these measures can lead to increased repeat offenses and public safety concerns, while supporters claim they address systemic inequities and reduce unnecessary pretrial detention. School board elections in Michigan have also drawn heightened attention as parents and activists seek greater influence over educational policy and curriculum.
