House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) has issued a statement following President Trump’s announcement that Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of a peace plan.
“This is what happens when we have strong leadership. Funny how peace only seems possible when President Trump’s in charge. The Israel–Hamas ceasefire didn’t happen by accident — it happened because of his strong leadership that puts America—and peace—first. Grateful the hostages are finally coming home and peace in the Middle East is on the horizon,” Chairwoman McClain said.
McClain represents Michigan’s 9th district in Congress, having taken office in 2021 after succeeding Paul Mitchell. She was born in Stockbridge, Michigan in 1966 and now lives in Bruce. McClain earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Northwood University in 1997.
