Matt Maddock, a Michigan state representative, made several posts on X in October 2025 addressing concerns about the judiciary and university student conduct.

On October 9, 2025, Maddock claimed that for three decades there has been an effort to appoint certain judges: "For the last 30 years, the communists have strived to get communist judges on the bench. They have succeeded in almost every city and they all push zero bail and no prison."

The following day, he referenced an incident involving a student at Oakland University: "Wow. @oaklandu student calls for the execution of a Republican! Hey OU! You realize what’s going to happen when we win back the majority if you don’t expel this terrorist right?$" This statement was posted on October 10, 2025.

Shortly after, Maddock added another post expressing his views on government funding: "All the more reason to defund these communists at every angle of government." This message was also shared on October 10.

Matt Maddock is known as a member of the Michigan House of Representatives and has been vocal about his positions regarding criminal justice policies and higher education institutions. In recent years, debates over bail reform and judicial appointments have intensified in various U.S. cities. Oakland University is a public university located in Rochester, Michigan.
