Oxford Charter Township issued the following announcement on Apr 6.
A berry nice donation . . .
Earlier today, the hard-working Oxford Township Parks and Recreation maintenance team planted 100 everbearing red raspberry bushes as part of the community garden in Seymour Lake Township Park.
The bushes, which will produce two crops per season, were donated by Oxford Township resident Dusko Marinkovski. Thank you very much, sir. Oxford appreciates your generosity.
Established in 2021, the Oxford Community Garden produced nearly 2,300 pounds of fresh vegetables. They were distributed to people experiencing food insecurity and local senior citizens.
When the 2022 growing season begins, volunteers of all ages and abilities will be needed to help with planting, watering, weeding and harvesting. To sign up, please contact Recreation Specialist Dawn Medici by calling (248) 628-1720 ext. 101 or sending an email to dawnmedici@oxparkrec.org.
