Fun day at PEAS!

Fun day at PEAS!

On Saturday, the Pan Equus Animal Sanctuary-PEAS in Oxford Township held its first Open Barn Day of the season. Folks had a grand old time touring the 75-acre farm and interacting with creatures great and small.

Operating since 1994, the sanctuary's mission is to provide care and comfort for animals that have been abused, neglected or abandoned, suffer from health issues or are simply getting old and need a stress-free environment to live out the remainder of their lives.

Located at 940 Hummer Lake Rd., PEAS is a safe haven for a variety of four-legged and feathered animals, including horses, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, peacocks, ducks, chickens and others.

Every animal there has one thing in common – PEAS was their last hope. If PEAS hadn’t opened its barn doors to them, they wouldn’t be alive today, enjoying the abundance of love and support provided by co-founders Dr. Judy Duncan and Ed Stull along with their army of compassionate volunteers.

The next Open Barn Day is scheduled for Sunday, June 5.
