Representative Lisa McClain, who has been serving in the U.S. Congress representing Michigan’s 9th District since 2021, shared a series of tweets on March 11, 2025. The tweets addressed ongoing political discussions regarding government funding and the positions of Democrats and Republicans.

In her first tweet, "ICYMI: I joined @foxandfriends to discuss how Democrats are unified against keeping the government open." posted at 20:23 UTC, McClain expressed concerns about Democratic opposition to efforts aimed at maintaining government operations.

Later that day, at 20:54 UTC, she tweeted again stating that "The @HouseGOP will pass a clean CR, which freezes spending, to keep the government open." She emphasized that this resolution would protect programs such as Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid while allowing Congress time to focus on broader legislative goals.

In her final tweet of the day at 21:04 UTC, McClain questioned the Democratic Party's stance with regards to key social programs by asking, "Will Democrats have another embarrassing Tuesday night on the floor?" She further inquired about their votes concerning Social Security and other benefits.
