Matt Maddock, a Michigan state representative, posted several tweets on August 13, 2025, expressing skepticism about green energy projects, tariffs, and nonprofit organizations.

In one post at 16:34 UTC, Maddock wrote: "The ppl who get the contracts for these green scam projects charge 5x the going rate and donate 10% back to the communist politicians. Thank you President Trump!"

Later that day at 18:51 UTC, he commented on trade policy with the statement: "Tariffs don’t work lol"

Shortly after, at 18:56 UTC, Maddock criticized nonprofit organizations by stating: "Like I said. All these nonprofits are embezzling tax money and their services are a front to fool you into thinking they are wholesome."

Maddock is known for his vocal criticism of government spending and environmental initiatives. He has previously questioned the effectiveness of tariffs as an economic tool and has raised concerns about transparency in nonprofit organizations. These comments reflect ongoing debates over government funding for renewable energy projects and scrutiny of both public contracts and charitable organizations.
